Secondary staffing only works when the adult in the room can hold a timetable, a faculty scheme of work and a teenage cohort at the same time. We match for subject, key stage and the way your school actually runs — not just availability on the morning of the booking.

That includes urgent cover when a specialist is off, fixed-term appointments that protect a class through a maternity or long-term absence, and permanent campaigns for posts that shape a faculty for years. The same named consultant stays with the brief so you are not repeating context to a new desk every week.

We brief people before they arrive on behaviour ladders, mobile-phone policy, detention and restorative scripts, and any safeguarding notes that are safe to share. Consistency for pupils is the point of cover, not a nice extra.

How we match

A secondary fill is judged on whether the person can pick up the lesson, hold the room and follow your routines without a day of shadowing. We ask for the year groups, exam board or specification where it matters, SEND banding in the class, and any cover notes that change how the period should run.

For longer bookings we look for continuity: the same adult across a block, midpoint check-ins, and a clear route into permanent search if a fixed-term post becomes substantive. For same-day cover we draw from a compliant pool already checked, so speed does not mean cutting corners on identity, DBS or prohibition checks.
